WELCOME
Welcome to the Barony of Raven's Nest official website. We are a Barony within "Companions of the Cross" a chapter of
Markland, a historical re-enactment organization dedicated to study and Re-creation of Europe in Middle Ages.
Barony of Raven's Nest has been created three years ago and now has 11 members. We study all aspects of life in the Middle Ages, from learning Medieval Combat to Period Cooking, Crafts and Brewery.
Our Combat expertise includes:
- Period Fencing, (Rapier and Broadsword)
- Fratricidal Combat (Armored combat with rattan weapons)
- Archery (both combat and target)
- Live steel (choreographed combat with steel weapons)
Crafts include:
- Leather work,
- Calligraphy,
- Heraldry...
We participate in many events throughout the year, demos for schools, fairs, feasts and wars. Join us on one of them, you will find a schedule on the Upcoming Events page.
Our members create a Medieval Persona, a character we portray when we are in garb. You can meet our members and see their pictures and stories on this site. Also there is a Baronial Chronicle, a book written by a Barony's Founder Sir Yuri of Raven's Nest that tells his and other member's stories in historical content. Enjoy!!!
